How every listing is sourced and checked
This is the October 21, 2026 edition: 394 listings and 30 events, built from 654 source links across 367 websites.
Checked Oct 21, 2026. Every entry links its source. No ratings, no reviews, no paid placement.
What we read to build a listing
Each listing starts on the business's own website. Name, address, phone, hours, license number and services are copied from there. Where a chamber of commerce or a building industry roster lists the business, that page is read too and linked. 214 of the 394 listings cite two or more pages, and 230 are matched to a roster.
Events come from the calendar page of the organizer or the venue. An event is listed only when a date with a year appeared on a page we read. Events seen only in a search result were left out.
What a listing shows, and what we have checked
- 1
Name, address and phone
Copied from the business's own site and matched to a roster where one lists it. The city and county are shown on every listing.
- 2
License number
67 trades print a Florida license number. It is shown exactly as printed, with the license type the letters point to. None printed means none shown.
- 3
Source links
654 links across 367 websites. Every listing page lists all of its sources.
- 4
Checked date
Each listing carries the date its sources were last read. The most recent one is October 21, 2026.
The area this directory covers
A business or event belongs here when its city or ZIP code sits in Southwest Florida: Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto, Lee, Collier, Hendry and Glades counties. That is 130 Census places across 8 counties. Place names and counties come from the US Census Bureau 2024 Gazetteer, places, Florida (2024_gaz_place_12.txt). A place appears in a filter only when it has a published entry, and it gets a page of its own only at 5 listings.
What we have not verified yet
- No license number has been looked up on the state DBPR record, and county contractor registration is not shown.
- Florida Bar standing has not been checked for any law firm.
- Hours are printed as the business states them and are not confirmed by phone.
- No listing carries a rating or a review, and none is invented.
- Nothing here is paid for. If paid placement opens, each paid slot carries the word Sponsored.
Links on a listing
The link to each listed business's own website, and the links to chamber and government source pages, are plain links that search engines follow. Links to third-party listing sites carry a nofollow attribute. No listing pays for a link, and a paid slot, if one ever opens, carries the sponsored attribute and the word Sponsored.
How a business adds or corrects its own listing
The form on the add page takes a new business, a new event or a correction. The sender confirms an email address through a link, then a person reads the submission against the public page the sender gave before anything is published. The sender's name, role and email address are never shown on the site. The form is not open yet and says so on the page. Other questions go through the contact page.
